WET MOLDING WORK

Materials

Kroei’s leather products are made from Vegetable tanned leather and Chrome tanned leather which have their own charm. Several attempts have diversely made to realise our design, considering the material features of each leather we use.

Production

Most of the processes are hand-made, like wet forming and sewing, while some processes are made by a responsible manufacturer.

Wet Molding Leather

Kroei products retain their own curves with round silhouettes, via “wet molding craft technique. They have its dimensional interface with a single piece of leather, thus having seamline minimised. Its process can be simply explained as follows. Soaked leather is tightened with any mold to fix the material and its intended shape is made when dried. Since a pressing work is essential for this process, it is inevitable to have a dent on the leather, which can be created by the mold. A dent is a form of being pressed or stretched. It varies from one another, which becomes a unique feature of the very leather.
